- THE PLAGUE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEATH OF 2/3 OF EYAM'S POPULATION!
- The Plague in Eyam raged for 14 months 
- It claimed the lives of 260 villagers
- 1st November 1666, the plague claimed its last victim.
- A memorial service is held at Cucklett Delf on Plague Sunday (where the services  where held during the plague)
- An earlier version of this plague was known as "The Black Death"


Plague Facts:
- Plague has three forms: bubonic plague (infection of the lymph glands), septicemia plague (infection of the blood), and pneumonic plague (infection of the lungs). Pneumonic plague can spread from person to person.
- Nowadays plague is treatable with antibiotics if detected early enough.

Cucklett Delf was used as a place of worship during the plague of 1665 - 1666. A memorial service is held here annually, on Plague Sunday.
